Our Philosophy...

Mama's Java is not just a name...it's a philosophy. We have heard it said that "If mama's not happy, no one is happy." Mama's Java is just as much about other moms as it is about the founder, Melissa Hall. Mama's Java represents so much more than just the name of a local coffee shop. Mama's Java is about coming in, getting some great java, and cherishing those moments of rejuvination and relaxation with friends. Mama's Java is about YOU. That's the philosophy- You enjoying your day with something that makes you smile.

Melissa started Mama's Java in 2009, after wanting to open a coffee shop for some time. Melissa and her husband, Mark, lived in Seattle from 1997 until 2004. In 2004, the Hall family had the opportunity to make a move from the Northwest to good 'ol Nashville, Tennessee. They jumped at the opportunity. There was much talk over the years about opening up a shop, and Tennessee seemed to present the perfect opportunity to do so. But after adding two additional rugrats to the Hall clan, it still seemed a possibility on the horizon and not anything immediate. In 2009, Melissa, Mark and the rest of the family moved into a new home in Nolensville, TN. Mom moved down from PA to help with the children and to give Melissa the opportunity to finally accomplish her dream of owning her own shop...

Melissa is thrilled to have been given the opportunity to open shop in her own community of Nolensville. She loves being involved with the local businesses and schools. She has helped with fundraisers and also providing both cold and hot drinks at local events. She is available for any catering needs that you may have and welcomes the chance to give back to the community that she loves being a part of.

A little tid bit on how Melissa came up with the name Mama's Java...Not only is she the mama, but the name is also an acronym for her family: Mark, Anthony, Melissa, Alexis, Ashton & Aleczander. She loves being a wife and mother and her family is represented in all aspects of my business. She states, "My family means everything to me and I have entered into this business knowing that they will have an opportunity to help make our family business a success!"

Got questions or need further information? Call or come by, and Melissa is sure to greet you with a smile!
